Why DC Immunity is Important:

Accurate Energy Measurement: DC currents in AC systems, even small ones, can cause significant errors in traditional CTs. This is because the DC current shifts the magnetic operating point of the core, potentially driving it into saturation. Saturation drastically reduces the CT's accuracy, leading to under- or over-billing for energy consumption.
